Azerbaijan, Jordan discuss prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation

Baku, February 14 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan Elman Arasli has discussed prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation with Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament`s Lower House Abdul Karim Dughmi.

According to Azerbaijani embassy in Jordan, they discussed the issues on the prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation, reciproal visits of representatives of legislative bodies and the expansion of the activity of inter-pariamentary friendship group.
Arasli spoke of the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. He said resolutions of international organizations, including the UN Security Council demanding an unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied territories still remain unfulfilled.
He said it is Armenia`s non-constructive position that impedes the settlement of the dispute.
They also exchanged views on ongoing regional processes as well as on current socio-political situation in Jordan, particularly draft laws on the agenda of the country`s parliament.
